In the previous post Coach Freedman has demonstrated an effective practice drill for knife defense. Here is another perspective on how to practice defending yourself in a knife attack. I will let you decide which method is more effective.

I cant believe i don’t remember this skit. this is hilarious.

The sad part is there are self defense schools that dont provide any value to their students and are all in it just for the money.

Watched that Dog Brothers clip on your site. That is some scary stuff. What you say is true. Teachers that are not teaching realistic knife defense techniques might be giving students false confidence. My take on it , the only way to stay safe in a knife attack is to never be in one. Realizing how scary dangerous a knife attack is, is the first step to be prepared for one. The tricky part is training realistically and avoiding injury. Coach/Sensei Freedman has attained that balance and his students are grateful for it. I am more confident now then I was studying at other schools.

I agree, martial arts is about survival and fighting is just a small part of it / last resort.

it also involves reading body language, avoiding, running, Negotiating, and assertiveness so that you will never be in one.
